A lovely place to walk, well managed heathland and pine woodland. Often put on special events for families such as bug hunts, treasure trails and educational programs. There is a car park which is pay but many people find places such as the service road over the other side of the dual carriage way and use the foot bridge to enter the reserve that way. There are some very calm grazing cattle which are used to help maintain the flora of the reserve so dog walkers need to keep their dogs under close control in some areas. I wish all dog walkers would bag and bin their dog mess as certain areas had very unpleasant presents left. There is a nice information centre run by the rangers team, cafe serving food, drinks and ice creams, toilet block and a lovely play area for children.
Great for WC and a drink when travelling.Make sure you pay when parking.Worth paying as great venue to stretch children's legs too.Very interesting informative accessible displays available.Looks good for doggies too.
As a result of recent investments there is now a much improved selection of children's a activities. Nature trail. Good cafe. Interactive visitors centre. Parking not too expensive (4 for 3 hours) and now accepts card payments.
Perfect place to relax and walk the dogs and children. Think back to nature, all natural and lovely little park for the children with a BBQ area you can hire and a fab coffee shop.
Good family park. There's various walks and routes to choose from for family's and dog walkers alike. There is also a brilliant selection of playground equipment and musical instruments. A new barrier parking system has been introduced with parking costing about 1.30 per hour. There is also a cafe at the park but we've not used this catering outlet.
