We had a great meal here! Portions are big, staff are friendly and give accurate advice on food allergens. Cod and chips came gluten free with an amazing crispy batter and sweet potato fries. Wraps are equally tasty and equally big. Great walks to be had before or after your meal around Appleslade and up to Rockford Common.
We popped in for a quick drink, chatted with the new owners and ended up staying for dinner! had a full plate of very good food , reasonably priced. Great evening and will definitely be coming back.
"The best pub in the New Forest " according to my daughter. Great food and entertainment, friendly service and good value. They even brew their own beer too.
Perfect place to go if your into real beer, real fires, wood floors and wood paneling. Microbrewery onsite creating a selection of beers, while being located the New Forest, is a perfect place after a long walk for a pint.Great atmosphere and all what you would expect from a pub in the forest.Dogs also welcome, mud and all.Only downside is the toilets are too small.
