This community hospital which has been taken away from us is the biggest disaster I have ever known in my life! Having been moved to Bournemouth Hospital and promised the world, in the sense that everything would remain the same was a pack of lies!! I have never been dishonest in my life and expect others to be honest in the same way to me! BUT NO! We were conned! As a rehabilitation ward we asked for a Gym, Oh! we go it all right but its GONE NOW and is now full of beds. What do I see since working at Bournemouth Hospital ,beds in corridors as there is nowhere to put patients, It sickens me when i know that St Leonards is still standing and could take 40 or so beds. The saddest part is to see patients going home, still not well and no proper rehabilitation although we nurses all try our best. With the winter ahead I dread to even think. This world has gone to pot! MONEY! MONEY! MONEY! to feather their nest. WHY! do people not care anymore! It was only yesterday we were thinking of all those who died for us! did people really care I DONT THINK SO! ITS SO SAD! One concelation we will always KNOW who was responsible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mother spent a number of weeks at this hospital after breaking her hip. The care she received there cannot be faulted in any way. The staff, headed up by Senior Sister Ali, were professional at all times and made the world of difference to my mother, who loved every one of them who looked after her.Thank you all, you deserve medals for your patience and compassion.
Caring staff and a peaceful place to get well.
